Accused Rocks Nightclub Shooter Turns Down Plea Deal

The Albany man accused of the Thanksgiving Morning shooting at Rocks nightclub rejects a plea deal.

Kareem Blacknall rejected the offer of 18 years to life in prison given by the Albany County DA's Office. Prosecutors have also announced that Blacknall will now face three new attempted murder charges.  They say the new charges are related to people who were shot when Blacknall allegedly opened fire, killing Wendell Hill Junior of Troy. Authorities have previously said that events that took place that night were the result of an ongoing feud between rival gangs from Albany and Troy.

Blacknall's attorney maintains that several people opened fire inside the Rocks nightclub and that his client will be cleared of the charges.  In December, Blacknall pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder, weapon possession, reckless endangerment and attempted escape.
