Flood Waters in Waterford Approach the Front Door of the Visitor's Center

A Flood Watch remains in effect for much of the Capital Region through at least Saturday morning.

Forecasters have said as much as two inches of rain are possible, with heavy rain expected Thursday afternoon.

In Waterford, the water is already lapping at the front door of the city’s Visitor Center on the Mohawk River.

Across the old railroad bridge at Peebles Island State Park, trees that are normally on dry land near the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson aren’t.

Rain is expected to taper off Thursday night.
