State Senate Says Yes, Assembly Says Yes, Next Step is Cuomo's OK of New State Budget Deal

The State Senate has approved the $153 billion budget agreement, and the governor is expected to sign it at some point.

Agreements were announced over the weekend after a week's delay.

Gov. Cuomo says the delay was due to how ambitious the budget was, and he believes the extra time paid off.

State Senator Neil Breslin of Albany says it's all about compromise.

Among items included in the budget, $1.1 billion for education spending, authorization for ridesharing upstate, free SUNY and CUNY tuition for students whose families make $125,000 or less, and the so-called "Raise the Age" issue.
