DWI Arrest in State Police Academy Parking Lot in Albany

This might be the most convenient arrest ever for New York State Police.

On Wednesday afternoon, an off-duty trooper called to report the unusual sight they were seeing.  Troopers say 49 year old Patrick French was in the State Police Academy parking lot, that he got out of his vehicle, and proceeded to lay down in a grassy area behind the Academy.

Troopers say French smelled of alcohol, failed field sobriety checks, and eventually blew a .28% blood alcohol level in a breath test.

French was ticketed, released to a sober 3rd party and given a court date of May 27 in City of Albany Criminal Court.
