A Broken Water Line the Cause of the Schenectady Mudslide

Schenectady city engineers now say they know what caused that big mudslide in late January, it was excess water.

A new report says a broken water service line at one of the houses on Barney Street, at the top of the hill above Nott Terrace, led to water in the basement which seeped through the dirt floor and into the slope.

Three people in a house on Nott Terrace, at the base of the hill, were injured when the mud and dirt came down.
