Several Schenectady Buildings Scheduled for Demolition

10 more abandoned buildings in Schenectady have a date with the wrecking ball.

The Capital Region Land Bank awarded a $622,000 contract for the demolition of 10 vacant and abandoned buildings around the city, downtown, the Eastern Avenue corridor, and the Crane Street corridor.

Each is said by officials to have a compelling reason for demolition.

Many are located close to new buildings.

These projects are also designed to improve each neighborhood's quality of life.

Work is expected to start almost immediately.

Completion is slated for this fall.
