State Judge Allowing Attorney General to Pursue Trump Lawsuit

A New York judge is allowing the state's attorney general to proceed with a civil lawsuit against President Trump, three of his children, and the Trump Foundation.

A.G. Barbara Underwood is alleging that the Trump Foundation was supposed to give money to charity, but was really just another account for Trump and his family to do business for personal gain.

The Trump family's attorneys have tried to avoid the suit by claiming the Constitution has a clause that prevents the President from being sued.

Justice Saliann Scarpulla shot down that claim, along with another argument that says the state court lacked jurisdiction.

She adds that the case does not deal with any actions taken by Trump after he became President, and should not interfere with his duties as Commander-In-Chief.
