Six Friendly's restaurants are closing in the Northeast and one of them is in the immediate Capital District.
The Friendly's in East Greenbush closed Sunday night and Friendly's in Bennington and Rutland, Vermont have also been closed.
Company officials say that the closed locations "no longer delivered the customer experience that we are working to create". Company officials also say that they are in the process of transferring affected employees to other restaurants and for employees who do not want to transfer; the company will provide short term financial assistance.
