Two Arrested in Amsterdam Drug Bust

FROM THE AMSTERDAM POLICE DEPARTMENT:

On February 12th, 2019 at 5:20am, members of the Amsterdam Police Department Detective and Patrol divisions, along with members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at 45 Schuyler Street Apt. 1 in the City of Amsterdam.

The search warrant was signed by Amsterdam City Court Judge Lisa Lorman following a month long investigation by the Amsterdam Police Detective Bureau and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team into the sales of crack cocaine and heroin from the Schuyler Street apartment.Upon executing the warrant, both targets of the investigation, King and Roby were located inside of the apartment.

Detectives located over 40 bags of heroin, over 20 grams of crack cocaine, a small quantity of ecstasy pills, numerous hydrocodone pills, and cash inside of the apartment.

NAME AND CLASSIFACATION OF CHARGES (F/M/V):

1.Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (CLASS B FELONY)

2.Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd- 4 counts (CLASS B FELONIES)

3.Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (CLASS A MISDEMEANOR)

Both King and Roby were transported to Amsterdam Police hq’s, where they were processed on the above charges and held pending arraignment in Amsterdam City Court.Montgomery County District Attorney Kelli McCoski assisted in the investigation.
