The City School District of Albany announced it will form a School Naming Policy Committee, which will work this summer to draft a policy regarding the naming and renaming of buildings in the city.

The main issue the committee will address off the bat is the renaming of Philip J. Schuyler Achievement Academy on Clinton Ave.

Schuyler was a Revolutionary War leader, and he also owned slaves.

Last week, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan ordered Schuyler's statue in front of City Hall to be removed.
