Amsterdam Police arrest a 19 year old after a car was stolen and several other cars were broken into overnight Friday into Saturday morning.

Police say they got a call around 6:30 in the morning Saturday that someone reported a stolen car on Division Street.

Police say they found the car a short time later on West Main Street being driven by 19 year old Jordan Washington.

Police took him in to custody and also found that he had other people's credit cards and cell phones.

Around 6:45 Saturday morning, Amsterdam Police got a call about a car that was broken into on Guy Park Ave.

Police say they believe Washington broke into that car by getting through a window in the garage.

He then admitted to police that he broke into that car and several others near Guy Park Ave and Division Street.

Washington faces numerous charges, including felony burglary and grand larceny.
