Dozens of family members of nursing home residents rally in Albany's East Capitol Park Wednesday calling on Governor Cuomo and the State to pass legislation that will allow them into nursing homes as essential caregivers for their loved ones.

Co-organizer of the rally, Marcella Goheen’s husband Bobby suffers from a condition where he can’t walk, talk or sometimes even press a call button. She says that family members provide a layer of care that sometimes staff can’t provide. The organizers of the rally are pushing for the Senate bill to be signed into executive order in hopes that in January the Senate bill will be signed into law.
