The death toll due to the coronavirus is continuing to rise in Albany County.

Two more people have passed away after contracting the illness, bringing that total to 180 since the pandemic started. Over the past week, 12 county residents have died as a result of the virus. There were also 173 new COVID-19 cases reported Sunday, however 156 of them didn't have a clear source of infection. Officials say that's due to ongoing community spread and people not being truthful with contact tracers.
