Starting Friday, New Yorkers will once again be able to visit their loved ones in nursing homes.

The state health department has released the guidelines long-term facilities will have to follow so visits can resume. At facilities in locations where the COVID-19 transmission rate is under five-percent, rapid testing for the virus would be suggested but not mandatory. But visitors will still be banned in communities where the infection rate is over 10 percent. The state says it'll help nursing homes get the necessary testing materials.
