New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's administration is responding to a story that a report containing coronavirus nursing home deaths was rewritten.

Sources tell the New York Times that senior aides to Cuomo rewrote a report to hide the real number of pandemic-related deaths in nursing homes. The original report, authored by state health officials in June of last year, said more than nine-thousand people had died. The Cuomo Administration responded with a statement saying the data was omitted after health officials could not confirm it had been verified, and that the additional data did not change the ultimate conclusion of the report.
