The sexual misconduct allegations against Governor Cuomo are renewing a call to restore the Tappan Zee name to the bridge connecting Westchester and Rockland.

Republican Rockland County Assemblyman Mike Lawler recently introduced a bill to change the name of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge back to what he calls the bridge's rightful name. He says it's especially important now, considering the sexual harassment claims against the governor. A change.org petition demanding the change was launched in 2017 and has since racked up more than 152,000 signatures. A state measure to restore the name failed to pass in 2018.
