Multiple outlets are reporting the New York Rangers are hiring Gerard Gallant as their next head coach.
Gallant coached the Vegas Knights to the Stanley Cup Final in the teams first season in the league in 2017. The 57 year old also put in time as coach of the Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets. Gallant follows former Rangers coach David Quinn, who was fired this year after the Rangers failed to make the playoffs.
