Troy Police are investigating a homicide that happened just after 11 Thursday night.
Officers were dispatched to a crash on 9th Street and found a man slumped over in a vehicle and unresponsive. 35 year old James Hayes was found to have a gun shot wound to the upper body. He was transported to Samaritan Hospital where he died. It was determined that the shooting occurred in the area of Rensselaer and 9th streets and Hayes sped away from the scene and struck a parked car in front of 391 9th Street. At this time there are no arrests.
