State employees and patient-facing health care workers at state-run hospitals are facing a deadline to get themselves protected from the coronavirus.

It was announced Wednesday that they have to be immunized by Labor Day, which is September 6th. Any state employee who isn't vaccinated will need to undergo weekly testing for COVID-19. However, the frontline hospital workers don't have that testing option and must be vaccinated in the next few weeks. The governor says he'll be working closely with labor unions to make sure the new policy is enacted.
