As expected, the COVID-19 vaccination mandate is impacting staffing levels at hospitals across the Capital Region.

Albany Med said as of Tuesday over 200 employees were placed on leave for missing the deadline and those workers have one week to get their first dose of vaccine or they'll be fired. Meanwhile, more than 300 staff members at Saint Peter's Health Partners are also suspended but that number will fall as more of them get immunized. There were also 44 employees of Glens Falls Hospital who were placed on unpaid administrative leave yesterday while there are over 30 employees who still aren't vaccinated against the virus at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
