The State Department of Transportation says a Clifton Park bridge that was damaged earlier this year is going to be replaced.

Back in April, the Sitterly Road bridge was hit by a truck that was towing a trailer with a boom lift on it. A temporary support structure has been in place since then, allowing drivers to keep traveling over the bridge. The state DOT says over $ 6 million will be spent on the project, and construction will likely be finished next year. The new bridge will be a bit shorter than the current span and feature wider travel lanes and a new sidewalk.
