Republicans have designated Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin to be their party's candidate in the race for governor.

Zeldin earned the nod over fellow GOP members Andrew Giuliani, Harry Wilson and Rob Astorino, but all three of those men are hoping to petition their way onto the June primary ballot. Zeldin says that if he's elected, he'll undo recent changes made to the state's bail laws and fight for parents to have more of a say in education policies that affect their kids. Zeldin's running mate Alision Esposito has been chosen as the Republican party's candidate for lieutenant governor.
