The State Liquor Authority has issued the guidelines that bars and restaurants must follow if they want to sell their customers alcohol-to-go beverages.

The agency says businesses can offer mixed drinks, cocktails, beer, and wine for pickup, but they have to be paired with a substantive food item like soup or a sandwich. Items that don't fit the guidelines include a bag of chips, a bowl of nuts and candy. Establishments that are caught trying to charge an additional fee for an alcoholic beverage in lieu of a food item will be punished.
