The Warren County Health Department has issued a warning to residents about the dangers of ticks.

The agency says so far this year, they've already had dozens tick-borne illnesses reported and the threat the insects pose should be taken seriously. Most people come in contact with ticks while doing outdoor activities such as hiking and everyone is urged to take precautions to keep themselves safe. They include wearing the proper clothing and making sure to have insect repellent on. Anyone who believes they've been bitten by a tick should contact their doctor immediately.
