Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan says the city is giving the owner of the Central Warehouse a deadline to make repairs to the crumbling building.

Sheehan says Evan Blum must make the needed repairs to the Montgomery Street structure within the next few days and that the city is considering taking legal action against him. A state of emergency was declared last week after pieces of the building fell down, which led to Amtrak service west of Albany being suspended because the debris was near railroad tracks. Emergency repairs have already cost the city $100-thousand and Blum is likely going to be billed for that work.
