The Saratoga Springs City Council has voted against a proposal that called for bars to close down earlier.

The measure was discussed during a meeting Tuesday night and if passed, would have put a 2:00 am curfew in effect for businesses instead of the current 4:00 am. Some Spa City leaders have been pushing for an earlier last call following an officer-involved shooting last month. But, many business owners believe the formation of a safety committee will help address late-night violence.
