PGA President Ted Bishop Joins Big Board Sports

Now that the PGA Championship is over and with news that Tiger Woods has withdrawn from consideration for this year's Ryder Cup team, we were joined by Ted Bishop, 38th President of the PGA of America, during a weekly golf segment on "Big Board Sports" on Fox Sports 980AM on Thursday, August 14.

Since 1991, Bishop has been the GM and Director of Golf at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, Indiana, a 45-hole complex that is the home of the Indiana PGA Section and Indiana Golf Association. He played a key role in the organization of the Indiana Golf Foundation. His efforts also helped establish the Indiana Golf Academy and the expansion of the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame (he’s a member, inducted ’13).

We talk about his successor, Derek Sprague, from Malone, NY, Dottie Pepper from Saratoga Springs, the Ryder Cup, the dark ending to the PGA Championship at Valhalla in Louisville, KY and his efforts to grow the game.

Plus his oopsie with the lid of the Wanamaker Trophy, caught by champion Rory McIlroy.
