RUSH: Hey, folks, you know, these little buddies of mine that I follow on the tech blogs? They are livid. They are so mad, they can't believe it. When they found out that the NSA is targeting their video games and their computer games, that's it. It may be the last straw.
RUSH: For those of you who are relatively young in the audience, you may find it hard to believe this, but there was a day not that long ago where -- I don't care what party he came from -- no president would join this collection of people, for whatever occasion going on in South Africa. There was a day where the United States and its president would not deign to associate with the likes of some of the people on that stage... The president of the United States would not participate in any action or ceremony which caused the United States to shrink in self-respect, importance, size, what have you. Not long ago, that would have been the case. It's a different world now. It's a changed world.
RUSH: Can you believe it? This is a great illustration of how the soap opera script works. Great illustration of how the behavior of the Drive-Bys, who are the script writers for the daily soap opera that is supposedly the news, happens. And it all involves Obama shaking the hand of the dictator, Raul Castro, at the memorial for Nelson Mandela.
RUSH: It's hilarious, it's hysterical, but the thing is, these people are dead serious. And they are not going to be laughed at by the left. They're not gonna be laughed at and made fun of by the media.
RUSH: How many points would Romney have won by if Obama had said, "Wait a minute, if you like your doctor, you want to pay more, you can keep your doctor. If you like your insurance plan, it covers your doctor, and, if you want to pay more, you can do it. It's a matter of choice."
RUSH: Shep Smith is an anchor, and he's explaining exactly how what you think is news is presented every day. There's no news. It's a narrative, and they battle for control over it. Now, stop and think about this for a second...
RUSH: There are very few people that could have undergone what he went through and maintained any sense of dignity or optimism. Most people who had been through what Mandela went through would have spent the rest of their life enraged and bitter and angry and would have tried to get even.
RUSH: Can you imagine the media? "Limbaugh opened his show making the death of Mandela about Obama!" No. Limbaugh opened his show reporting how Obama has made the death of Mandela about Obama.
